Second last Sunday and last Monday

On Sunday we wanted to go Gozo. Gozo is an island of the maltese archpelago in the Mediterranean Sea and it is part of Malta.
So we woke up at 11 and after breakfast we headed to Valletta via bus. In Valletta we had to change bus that goes to Circewwa where is the Gozo ferry.  Then we jumped in this big boat where was one little store and coffee shop. Going to Gozo was free. After 20 minutes boat trip we were in Gozo and ready to go check some game of thrones filming locations. We used bus a lot while transporting places to places and I dont remember the names anymore but here are some pics from gozo. Oh yeah and it was extremely windy up there.

Last work week started and caught stomach flu for eating something bad. I didnt sleep more than two hours between Sunday and Monday night and I was feeling little sick still in the morning so I decided to stay at home resting, learning some english with erasmus and writing blog.

beginning of the seventh week

Seventh workweek started on Monday with some office work in purchasing department. My office bosses gave me new task which was making new forms for approximately 40 diffirent zippers. I had to use exel and this company program where was all the information of the the zippers. Then when I found the supplier, reference code and quantity of the zipper I input the information to exel and print it out. After printing form I cut little sample of zipper and put it on the form using stapler. After that I just have to find right place for it from the folders. So that was my job on Monday and Tuesday, but today on Wednesday was off day because of workers day which I think is the same holiday as "Vappu" in Finland. Now on off day I am planning to go see how people are celebrating the holiday  in Valletta and then I am going to gym. Seeyou later.

Sixth week

On Monday in Finland was Easter Monday but here it was not free day and people did not celebrated it so I had to to go to work. After long Easter weekend I started working the same fabric task that ive already being doing the last week and end up doing till today Thursday. I finally finshed that humangeous mountain of fabrics and the I came back to my office where I worked before fabric task and there my other office boss Lino said that you have earned a break and now I started to writing the blog. So the week was pretty monotonous. Tomorrow there is Friday and after work the weekend will start and I am planning to do Erasmus english course and then exploring.

Fifth Sunday

Today was Easter which meant that lot of people were celebrating it and many stores were closed today. Today on Easter I went to gym and after that to manoel island. There were lots of diffirent animals like ducks, cats, birds, guineapigs, turkeys and chickens, and they were taking care of themselves. Of course some people feed them occasionally but the animals didnt belong to any companies or a person (thats what I think).

Today I saw AGAIN one maltese man who were cutting a lines and being rude. I dont know should I say this but maltese people are not the fastest or the cleverest people in the world. For example first day at work I realized that lot of things should be done diffirently and almost every day in Malta I ask myself why this were done like this and not like this, hope youll understand 😀. But yeah now im getting ready for the next work week by eating some snack before going to sleep. And here is few picture from today.

Fifth week and little bit about my work place and the department im working on

So Bortex is mens suitstore which was founded in 1964 by Sunny Borg. Bortex has many luxury brands, for example. Lacoste,Gant, Ralph Lauren and Gagliardi which is Bortex's own brand. In Malta there are five Bortex stores and few Gagliardi stores so I think Bortex is one of the leading suit store in Malta. I work in bortex Marsa and here is store but also many diffirent departments and offices where people work for the company. I am working in purchasing department doing some office job as arranging papers, files and also some computer work. There are six people working in purchasing department doing all sorts of purchasing from Tunisia and some other places. So basically they are purchasing buttons, fabrics, etc.

People in Malta are usually quite nice but sometimes very quiet and annoying. My collegues in purchasing department are super nice and fun and I really like to work there. There is lot of maltese people working here but also from diffirent countries, like for example there is one man Paul from london who is super fun and he has great sense of humour.

This week I have only done a one job, unboxing fabrics, then measuring them in three diffirent places by their sizes and then fold them into a clean order. It is quite easy and fun because I can listen some music while working because im working alone now.

Halfway done

On Tuesday my boss told me that I can work little bit on store and I was excited but the people were pretty arrogant towards me and one hour felt like a day there and I just did not enjoy working there so I told my boss about it and she put me to reception and I was there rest of the day.

On Wednesday I thought that ill be in reception as my boss said on Tuesday but I went back to the purchasing which is pretty fun. There I answered some emails, made a few exel charts and organized places and some other little tasks.

Now on Friday I were at the warehouse trying to find some missing swatches and samples which was super exhausting and dirty task but also pretty fun change. After warehouse job I asked my office boss that whats next and she said that do your own things for a while and I end up watching netflix for three hours because she was so busy and didnt have time to sign me a new task. That was the first time when there was nothing to do.😂

Fourth Monday

Fourth Monday started with fast coffee and toast. After breakfast we headed to bus and then work.

At work I saw my (boss?) who said that she will try to get me to do some customer service which is nice after doing all this paperwork. But still today I continued the same paperwork, which is removing type A- paper from the binder and at the same time keeping the type B- paper in there. So pretty boring is all I can say but its fine.

Also I saw on the news that there was shooting in my city Birzzebbuga which is pretty scary. One was killed and two was injured. Hopefully this isnt going to happen anymore.

Third work week

The work week started on Monday and I continued working in purchasing department. I worked still on the office and I continued organizing some files and answered on few emails about the files. After work I went to home to cook some food and Monday was done.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday were very similar. In work I organized these same files and then I made some notes that we know which files are where. I also ordered same lunch three days a row, chicken sandwitch. After work in Tuesday and Wednesday we went Sliema to eat and for one drinks and then we headed home. On Thurday after work we went seeing some Italian people and after that we went home but the buses werent going that late in our city so we went to Paola and walked three kilometers to home.

Now on Friday I organized files, carryed boxes and trying to find missing buttons, and also I unboxed some plastic folders. Soon I will end my day and go to Valletta to buy food.

Second weekend

Second weekend went great. The weather was very warm and sunny. On Saturday I slept till 1 pm and after that we went to Sliema to eat and then we spent our money to souvenier shop.

After eating and shopping we walk 3 kilometers to paceville to get some excercise. Then we drinked the rest of the night in paceville and in st.julian.

Sunday was resting and sleeping and getting ready for next work week. I made some food but Sunday was not interesting day.

End of the second week

On Thursday I was still sick so I didnt do anything except layed on my bed. In the evening I felt better so I was capableto go work on Friday.

On Friday I was still working in the purchasing department. My tasks were organizing some swatches, buttons and fabrics to drawers.

Friday night I went to Sliema to buy some shirts and after that we grabbed a few drinks.

Previous blog did not go through for some reason but it was made on Wednesday.

Beginning of second week

First full weekend went great. In Saturday went on Sliema to shopping to mall called The Point. And on Sunday we just layed in our beds and cooked some food for the first time here.

Weekend was over and working continued on Monday. On Monday I was again at the purchasing apartment where we checked stock of buttons and their quantitys and sort them into a right order. After work I went to the barber and then I bought some new socks.

Tuesday was again working day where I continued the same task as Monday. Last hour was sorting some papers and re-arranging them to more clearer way. After work we watched Finland against Armenia football game, which we won 2-0.

wednesday we both caught flu because the heater was off and the night was about 7 degrees colder than in Tuesday so when I woke up I was so cold and my throat was killing me. Let hope that it will pass quick.

Arriving to Malta & first week

We arrived to Malta in saturday at 1pm. The weather was pretty sunny and warm when our contact person came to pick us up at the airport. The first day was getting to know place and the apartment which is located pretty far from center of Malta.

On Sunday we went to see Valletta which is capital of Malta. It was little bit of disappointment but there was some dope stone castle. Rest of the day went to getting ready for the first work day at the Bortex.

The first day at Bortex was okay. We met the people and co-workers and then we did little bit of work. There is many diffirent departments at Bortex which means many diffirent tasks but the first day I was working at designer department to cutting some fabrics and moving boxes and plastic folders from place A to B.

Tuesday was St. Patricks day which meant day off and we went to center of Malta to Sliema, Gzira and to Saint Julian to watch when people celebrated holiday.

Wednesday and Thursday in Bortex was similar, I worked in designer department and making some model fabrics and little bit of other tasks.

At Friday I got transfered to purchasing department where I checked some stocks and for example checked that if certain button is in stock and then I had to mark it down. Lot harder than it sounds. Hope that I could do some sales or other tasks next week. Now it is Friday 6pm and where about to go paceville to have some fun.
